Welcome to the NuView Blog, another new entrant into the wide world of cyber space. We intend this place to be a site where we can express the NuView Strategic direction, articulating our position in the new knowledge economy. We are taking a bold stance by stating that we are key participants in creating meaningful strategic outcomes for companies that do business with us. We want to hear opinions, impressions and experiences that validate or constructively criticize that premise. We intend to hear, learn and post feedback that raises awareness on how HR Strategy is being affected for the visitors that frequent this blog.
Please feel welcome to send us any information that you believe will be useful and watch this space for why NuView is starting to allow strategy to emerge for HR departments across the globe.

I had a recent discussion where the timing of maintenance for a software liecense was being questioned. The argument was that maintenance must be paid only when a software system goes live. This argument supposed that support is needed once the system is loaded with data and people in the company start to use the data. Maintenance is essentially for support. An interesting comparison to brand new car sitting in a garage was made, in that the car does not need maintenance while it is stationary and only when it starts moving does it need support.
Maintenance buys the client both support and free upgrades. Support is needed during the implementation process constantly and upgrades containing new functionality and technological advances are being deveoped simultaneously. The implementation process belongs in large part to the client. The timing of going live is a function of the culture within the company, the HRIS resource available, the quality and quantity of existing data and the strength of the project management team. This can vary from client to client and so cannot be linked to maintenance because maintenance funds the ongoing support and new development that makes functionality available and easy to use. The transportation anology that fits better is one of a train or plane with engines running, but must wait for all the passengers to get on with all the correct seat assignments, security checks and assigned to the proper place. This loading of the train or plane needs ground support staff and while the train or plane is stationary, new machinery is being fitted on, internal reconfigurations are being made to passenger specifications, and appropriate preparations of security, access and assignments are being made. The train is burning fuel and is being test driven, requiring maintenance while it is preparing to take off.
At NuView the depth and scope of technological advances that exist just beneath the surface is extraordinary. The passengers on the journey with NuView are enjoying the ride and are oblivious to the engineering that allows them to move. While this is a great accomplishment, we are going on a mission to expose the inner workings and so unleash the potential that NuViewHr toolset - NuTools allows its client companies to execute its strategy.
