NuView Systems Named a Finalist in 2009 CODiE Awards Competition

NuView Systems was named a finalist today in the Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) 24th Annual CODiE Awards. NuView’s comprehensive HRMS, the NuViewHR® product suite, was selected from many high-caliber products as one of the

Best Human Resources Solutions in the industry.

The award is based on the best software solution that automates any aspect of human resources management, including HRIS, benefits administration, recruiting, payroll, performance appraisal, asset management, etc. The solution can be distributed as a service (SaaS) or installed (NuView offers both options).

CODiE Award Judges look for ability to manipulate data and functionality of key attributes, ability to pull from disparate date sources, ease of use, level of services provided compared to other similar programs, overall fulfillment of key attributes, overall visual/program aesthetics and user interface. NuView’s underlying toolset, NuViewTools, used to customize almost every aspect of the system to reflect client environments, earned high marks among judges.

According to SIIA President Ken Wasch, "The competition is particularly steep this year, making selection as a CODiE Finalist a real achievement. All the companies on this year's list of CODiE Finalists should feel justifiably proud of their accomplishment in making it to this stage, and have much excitement to look forward to regarding the upcoming voting!"

The CODiE Awards hold the distinction of being the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program, which provides member companies with a unique opportunity to earn praise from their competitors. Now in its twenty-fourth year, the CODiE Awards program has raised the standard for excellence and serves as prestigious representation of outstanding achievement and vision in the software and information industry. Award winners will be announced during the CODiE Awards Reception & Gala, on Tuesday, May 5 in San Francisco, CA.

NuView Reaches Out to Customer Base in Tough Economic Times

Plans Webinar to Help Them Make Better Strategic Decisions

With the unemployment rate currently at 7.2% and expected to climb to 8.9 % by late summer, organizations are undoubtedly downsizing. To better help its customers during this tough economic time, NuView Systems will host a Strategic Business Decisions Webinar on Tuesday, February 17th that will focus on utilizing NuViewHR to make informed Reduction in Force (RIF) decisions using its vast database and product suite.

NuView will present information on how customers can use NuViewHR to make strategic staffing decisions, while leveraging the expertise of NuView Implementation Consultants to provide real-time assistance in the execution of time critical HR initiatives.

When faced with a need to downsize, most organizations become reactionary, and are not in a mindset to make well thought-out decisions because they don't have the luxury of time on their side.

Organizations that need to quickly conduct a reduction in force risk making the wrong decisions. As a result, poor decisions can harm organizations in the long term and negatively effect their ability to capitalize on business, and future success, when an economic recovery does occur.

As such, NuView is taking a proactive approach, getting customers to do some RIF pre-planning before they are tasked with these tough staffing decisions.

This critical webinar will show NuViewHR customers a better approach to avoid making bad business decisions by leveraging key data points from its strategic modules, including Training Administration, Performance Management, Succession Management and Compensation Management modules.

Date:  Tuesday, February 17th  2:00 - 3:00pm EST

CEO Quoted in BusinessWeek

As a senior manager in an era of massive layoffs, it's your job to stave off survivor guilt before it lowers the morale and productivity of remaining employees

The subject of survivor guilt—the despair employees feel when co-workers fall victim todownsizing— comes up during every recession, but 2009 promises a uniquely virulent strain of the affliction.

"The layoffs are just starting," says Shafiq Lokhandwala, chief executive officer of NuView Systems, a maker of human resources software. "I think we have only seen about 25% of what's coming." According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December alone the U.S. lost 524,000 jobs, for a total of 11.1 million unemployed Americans. With the exceptions of health care and education, the recession has hurt every type of industry.

In addition to the impact of their sheer volume, the current layoffs present less hope and more complications for folks cut loose by their employers. "In the past layoffs, there was the feeling laid-off people would get similar jobs to the ones they lost," says Sheryl Spanier, a Manhattan career coach. "Today whole types of jobs are going to be eliminated." So if you lived through the 1987 stock market disaster and 2001 dot-com bust, that was just a warm-up exercise in the survivor guilt arena.

NuView Systems Named to Software Magazine’s 26th Annual Software 500 List

NuView Systems today announced its inclusion on Software Magazines Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and services providers, now in its 26th Year

“The 2008 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $451.8 billion worldwide for 2007, representing 14.7% growth from the previous year,” says John P Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com “We have added over 100 new companies to the list this year. We’re seeing strong growth from more companies based outside the U.S., especially from systems integration and outsourcing services firms based in India.”

“Total employee head count was a modest 1.3% increase from the last year. Sectors seeing the highest rates of employee growth included Software as a Service, Search/Portal tools, Supply Chain/Manufacturing, Legacy System Renewal/Integration and Database,” Desmond says.

“The Software 500 helps CIO’s, senior IT managers and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners,” Desmond says. “It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version to be posted soon at www.Softwaremag.com is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software.” Some 42 percent of the 2007 Software 500 companies are privately held.

NuView Systems has consistently been named to the Software 500 in each of the past five years.

Does your Company Have a CSR Plan in Place?

The world is a smaller place thanks to the Internet, global trading and new communication and technology advances. More U.S. companies are expanding overseas, and now manage a global workforce that has unique benefits, rules/laws, and different languages and currencies. With this global expansion comes a "responsibility". When companies are global, an important challenge in garnering success is to respect other cultures and workforce environments and start forming a global profile or social consciousness.

A wonderful way to recognize these differences is to have a sound Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan that can simultaneously increase shareholder value, boost employee engagement and increase employer brand recognition. Human Resource Departments play a critical role in ensuring that the company adopts corporate social responsibility programs. Furthermore, HR can manage its implementation and monitor its adoption proactively, while documenting (and celebrating) its success throughout the company.

You might ask, "How can human resources technology help with a Corporate Social Responsibility program, including reducing the company's carbon footprint to benefit the planet?"

ITT Corporation & NuView Mark Major Milestone in NuViewHR® Rollout

NuView Systems announces today that ITT Corporation, which selected NuViewHR for

its commercial businesses global HR platform, has reached a major project milestone --

rolling out the pilot HR & Benefits Administration module of its HRIS, in Shenyang,

China.

NuView’s international system accommodates ITT’s unique organizational structure,

consisting of complex processes with workflows and localization to meet compliance and

regulatory needs.

A robust security system is also in place because of the unique business structure of

ITT, combined with single sign-on, approval steps and other standard features of

NuViewHR.

China presented some unique challenges to both companies, but NuViewHR’s flexibility,

such as moving all required fields for new hires to a single form, and auto save routines

implemented as a data safeguard, helped overcome some of the challenges.

NuView has also implemented a 24 hour Help Desk to support ITT users (and other

NuView global clients) with native language support for China.

ITT’s Kevin Mendonsa, Director of E-HR, recognizes the efforts put forth by both ITT and

NuView staff to reach this major milestone. Mendonsa’s goals were an “intuitive, crisp &

clean system that was error free”. All of the hard work is paying off and the project will

continue with rollouts throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
